February 14, 2020, was the last Tablao Flamenco El Barrio before COVID hit. Our city shut down on the same day as our March show and subsequently we took a 4 year hiatus.
And now we’re back!
Join us in celebrating the relaunch of our quarterly flamenco performances presented by Xianix Barrera Flamenco in the heart of El Barrio featuring celebrated flamenco artists from the around the world. Every performance is a unique experience that highlights elite artists, from up and coming to our most beloved favorites in NYC. We invite you to explore an intimate date night with your loved one, an outing with friends or a unique family night. Our shows are kid-friendly and open to all!
Tablao Flamenco El Barrio Special Edition FEATURING RAQUEL HEREDIA AND “QUEBRADA”
In "QUEBRADA," titled after the Spanish word for broken, Xianix Barrera embarks on a tangible exploration inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with golden lacquer. The philosophy behind Kintsugi teaches us to embrace our brokenness and imperfections as part of our life’s journey towards healing. We mend the cracks and highlight them in gold instead of concealing it in a celebration of resilience, transformation, and beauty in imperfection, and finding strength in our vulnerability.
