Part 1: Transformation through Artistry: Poetry, Music, and Dance
A Trinity Church Wall Street event at St. Paul’s Chapel
New York City, September 20th - October 1st.
Originating within the realm of Flamenco in Southern Spain, the tradition of Duende tells the story of art’s transformational power throughout cultures, countries, and creative forms. With El Duende Talk & Performance Series, New York City audiences will experience the inspiring force of Duende through a combination of interactive dance, music, and poetic events, as well as expert panel discussions and workshops. Directed by Andalusian poet, musician, and scholar Dr. Ernesto Estrella, supported by the Trinity Church Wall Street’s Arts Committee, and inspired by the genius of Federico García Lorca –the first poet to write extensively about Duende–the series brings 10 days of transformational events to New York City.
