Inspired by the concepts and experiences of duende, our inner creative spirit, Social Engagement Performance Artist Arielle Rosales brings together a powerhouse cast of women movement artists and rhythm makers to explore the birth and flow of creativity as an inherently feminine phenomenon. Assuming we must be fully present to receive this creative conception and ride its energetic waves, Rosales prioritizes process over product through facilitating a series of creative labs with the collaborating performers in order to hold a safe space for a holistic creative experience. Join us in a celebration of life, art, and womanhood and follow @ariellerosales @houseofduende #permissiontobe to be part of the process!

“The duende is not in the throat: the duende surges up, inside, from the soles of the feet.’ Meaning, it’s not a question of skill, but of a style that’s truly alive: meaning, it’s in the veins: meaning, it’s of the most ancient culture of immediate creation.” — Federico García Lorca

Bring a blanket and a friend and join us for this free performance at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Harbor View Lawn, as part of Gibney Dance Company’s dance-mobile series! No RSVP required.
